Examples of defects

Poor design and poor workmanship. Soil pipe fitted incorrectly. Raw sewage collects at this low point. The whole foul water drainage system was modified incorrectly by the builders but was still signed off by Building Control.
Water trap created by draining both extension parapet walls into a narrow void between the walls. Both walls should have been capped with 'once weathered' coping stones directing water away from the gap.
The fibreglass had been left exposed without the top gel coat.

Incorrect materials specified. Corrosion staining will continue and the ferrous metals will expand as they corrode splitting the render away from the structure. This allows more water in.

Brickwork with lime mortar needs to be able to breath. The 'repair' carried out seals the moisture into the parapet wall and the brickwork. This is incorrectly specified and the condition of the brickwork shows clearly that repairs were due many years before this was carried out.
